Pickleball Itineraries: More Than Just a Place to Play

We’re expanding what Best Pickleball Facilities means by introducing Pickleball Itineraries—destination guides built around exceptional places to play.

Because sometimes the best pickleball experience isn’t simply finding a great place to play. It’s discovering a great place to visit.

Our Pickleball Itineraries will highlight destination-worthy pickleball facilities and the restaurants, hotels, attractions, outdoor activities and other experiences that make the surrounding area worth exploring.

Think of the pickleball facility as the starting point for the trip—not necessarily the entire trip.

Pickleball Worth Traveling For

There are thousands of places to play pickleball across the country. But that’s not really what Best Pickleball Facilities is about. We’re interested in the places that give you a reason to go.

Maybe it’s a state-of-the-art indoor facility with great food and entertainment. Maybe it’s a massive outdoor complex in a destination city. Or perhaps it’s a unique facility that has become part of the local experience.

Our itineraries will take those facilities and build a trip around them.

Think of it as: Play. Explore. Eat. Repeat.

What Will Be Included?

Every destination is different, so there won’t be a cookie-cutter itinerary. Depending on the location, an itinerary might include:

• A destination-worthy pickleball facility — the centerpiece of the trip.
• Restaurants worth checking out — from casual local favorites to memorable dining experiences.
• Hotels and lodging — convenient places to stay when an overnight trip makes sense.
• Things to do — attractions, entertainment, shopping, historic sites and other local highlights.
• Paved bike trails — because a little time away from the pickleball court can be a good thing.
• Disc golf — another way to get outside and enjoy the destination.
• Other recreational activities — golf, hiking, kayaking, parks and more when they fit the location.

And we’ll look for opportunities to incorporate the things that make each destination unique.

The Facility Is the Anchor

The pickleball facility will always be at the heart of these itineraries. But we’re not simply going to identify the closest restaurant or hotel and call it an itinerary. The goal is to find places worth visiting.

A facility might be the reason you discover a particular city. The surrounding attractions, restaurants and activities are what can turn that visit into an experience.

You might spend the morning playing at a premier pickleball facility, grab lunch nearby, spend the afternoon exploring a local attraction, take a ride on a paved trail, and finish the day with dinner at a restaurant that’s part of the local scene.

That’s a very different experience than simply searching for “pickleball courts near me.”

From Pickleball Trip to Pickleball Destination

We’re especially interested in destinations where multiple pieces fit together. Maybe it’s a city with an outstanding pickleball facility and plenty to do within a short drive. Maybe it’s a weekend getaway where you can combine pickleball with outdoor recreation. Or maybe it’s a destination where the pickleball facility itself is so impressive that it’s worth traveling several hours to experience.

We’ll be looking for all of them.

And as we discover more facilities that fit the bill, we’ll continue adding destinations to our collection of Pickleball Itineraries.
